Jed Cain is an associate with Herman, Herman, Katz, & Cotlar, L.L.P. Mr. Cain attended Hendrix College in Conway, AR where he earned a B.A. in Politics in 2001. While attending Hendrix, Mr. Cain interned for Senator Mary Landrieu. While interning in Washington D.C., Mr. Cain developed an interest in education policy. After receiving his B.A. from Hendrix, Mr. Cain spent a year teaching elementary school in Shreveport, LA before attending Tulane University School of Law where he received his J.D. in 2005. While at Tulane, Mr. Cain argued on the Tulane Moot Court National Trial Team and represented Tulane at the National Moot Court Trial Competition in 2003. In 2004-2005, Mr. Cain served as a student coach for the Tulane National Trial Team and was also an Associate Justice of the Moot Court Board. Mr. Cain also participated in the Tulane Civil Litigation Clinic. Mr. Cain clerked with Herman, Herman, Katz, & Cotlar, L.L.P. throughout law school and became an associate with the firm in the summer of 2005, shortly before Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans. Since that time, Mr. Cain has become heavily involved in the firm's prosecution of both commercial and residential first party property insurance claims. Mr. Cain has litigated to completion approximately 250 first party "bad faith" insurance cases since 2005. The New York Times, Law Dragon, and the New Orleans Times Picayune have recognized Mr. Cain's work on behalf of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Mr. Cain maintains an active membership in both the Louisiana Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. Mr. Cain frequently publishes articles for LAJ Advocates and is currently an active member of the LAJ's Legislative Committee, Insurance Section and New Lawyers Division. Also, Mr. Cain is currently the Chair of the LAJ New Lawyers Division.
