HHK&C has been practicing in the bankruptcy courts in Louisiana since the inception of the firm. A current bankruptcy judge is a former member of the firm. While the firm has done both debtor and creditor bankruptcy work for consumers and commercial clients, in recent years the emphasis has been in representing creditors. In addition, in Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and 13 cases, we have been appointed special counsel for the trustee or the debtor in possession to pursue claims on behalf of the estate. These claims may be in tort and/or in contract.

Recently, we have represented clients in the Jazzland, Inc. bankruptcy, the Babcock & Wilcox bankruptcy and we were appointed special counsel to the debtor in the Orion Refining Corporation bankruptcy.
